The roof edge is a small part of the house and a large part of how it looks. A straight fascia carries a straight gutter. Flat eave linings with tidy mouldings make a plain house look finished. Sagging fascia, stained linings and rotten framing behind them do the opposite, and they let water in. Zakariya Woodworks installs and repairs eaves and fascia across Sydney, as part of our framing jobs and as a stand-alone scope.
On new builds and extensions, eaves and fascia are the natural last step for the crew that pitched the roof. The rafter ends are already lined, so the fascia goes on straight. On existing homes, we remove what is damaged, check the framing behind it, and fit new fascia and lining sheets so the roof plumber can hang the gutters straight away.

Fibre cement lining sheets fixed under the eaves, joints supported, with vents where the plans call for them.

Quad, scotia or the moulding shown on the plans, fitted at the wall and fascia junctions so the eave is finished and paint-ready.

Rotten or damaged fascia, linings and framing removed and replaced, rafter ends checked, and the roof edge made sound before the gutters go back on.
Why us
Why the framing crew should finish the roof edge
Fascia is only ever as straight as what it is fixed to. If the rafter ends were cut and lined by the same crew that is fixing the fascia, it goes on straight the first time. If the eave framing was set out with the roof, the linings sit flat and the mouldings meet. We do the roof and the eaves together for that reason, and we quote them together on most jobs.
We do not install gutters or downpipes. That is a roof plumber's job. What we do is hand over a roof edge that the plumber can fix gutters to without packing or re-lining, and we time our work with your plumber so the two trades follow each other without a gap.

Step 1
Plans or photos
For a new build or extension, send the plans and the eave detail. For repairs, send photos of the roof edge and a rough length. We quote from these and can look on site within a week.

Step 2
Rafter ends and framing
Rafter ends are checked for line and cut where needed. Eave framing goes in to the detail, or old framing is stripped and replaced.

Fascia, linings, mouldings
Fascia fixed and joined, lining sheets fitted and fixed, mouldings and trims installed at the junctions.

Roof plumber handover
Roof edge left clean and ready for gutters. We tell your plumber when it is done, or co-ordinate the date in advance.

01What is eaves and fascia work?
The fascia is the board that runs along the edge of the roof and carries the gutter. The eaves are the underside of the roof overhang, lined with fibre cement sheets over the framing behind them. We fix the fascia, frame and line the eaves, and fit the mouldings so the roof edge is finished and ready for gutters.
02Do you do eave linings on new builds and extensions?
Yes. Eave linings are part of most of our framing jobs, and we quote them with the frame or as a separate item. On new builds we frame the eaves and fix the linings once the roof is on. On extensions we match the existing eaves depth and finish so the join is not obvious.
03Can you replace rotten or damaged fascia and eaves?
Yes. We remove the damaged boards or sheets, check the rafter ends and the framing behind them, and fit new fascia and lining sheets. Where gutters need to come off, we co-ordinate with your roof plumber. Send photos of the roof edge and we can give you an idea of the scope.
04Do you install gutters?
No. Gutters and downpipes are installed by a roof plumber. We install the fascia and eaves so the plumber can fix the gutters straight away. If you need the whole roof edge finished, we can time our work with your plumber so the two trades follow each other.
